1975

Claude Hardouin founds Soboplac, Société Bordelaise de Placage. At that time the company focuses on buying exotic logs to produce veneers for both panel and furniture industries in France.


1990

In the early 90’s Soboplac expands with the production of both European and American species such as Beech, Rustic Oak,  US Cherry, Hard Maple etc and among our Exotic Species we start producing Khaya crotches, Figured, Pommeles etc.

1993

After spending a year in the US, Olivier Hardouin joins the company and develops the sales on the US market.

1998

Jean-Marie Lambert joins the company to develop the sales in Asia.

1999

The company brings Flooring and Decking to its range of products. 

2003

Soboplac USA is founded along with Michael D. Clark. The veneer warehouse is located in High Point North Carolina. Finest Veneers from all over the world are offered on North American market. 

2011

Olivier Hardouin creates Bordeaux Specialty Veneers (BSV), subsidiary of Soboplac USA,  to handle the veneer business in France.
Since that year, Soboplac France will handle only flooring and decking. BSV and Soboplac USA handle the veneers.

2016

Always searching for new markets, BSV now supplies veneers for the Automotive Industry.
